Now there are a group of activists on Freedom Square, who demand from the authorities to set free political prisoners. According to the data published by action participants, the number of political prisoners in our country is about two dozens including Shant Harutyunyan, his friends and Volodya Avetisyan. Shant Harutyunyan’s wife and son- Shahen Harutyunyan, are also on the Freedom Square. As we know, yesterday during Shant Harutyunyan’s trial, the Prosecutor demanded to sentence underage Shahen to 5 years imprisonment. In the conversation with A1+ Shahen Harutyunyan said that he doesn’t regret for his deeds, he just defended his father, “If the incident was repeated, I would do the same. I think that authorities try to pressure the youth by this step, so that young people can not protect even their families being afraid of the sentence.” Action participants are going to held acknowledgment campaign on central streets.
