“If it continues in this way, the airport will be shut down” (video)
“Our Russian colleagues are surprised when they learn that no compensation is paid to the pilots with disabilities in Armenia,” pilot Razmik Khachatryan, who has been holding a protest action in front of the Government, told “A1+”.
According to the decision of the Government the compensation paid to the pilots with disabilities was stopped in 2006. For already 9 years they have been demanding to restore the compensation.
Razmik Khachatryan said that they had met with Prime Minister, who promised to solve the issue until March.
“Only 50 pilots have remained out of 120. As the former Prime Minister said they are leaving in turn, few people have remained, they are elderly people, they will also leave and the issue will be solved automatically,” he said and added if it continues in that way, the airport will be shut down.
“Our experienced pilots have left, they have gone to other countries, soon it will also be shut down, what will happen in the end?” complained the pilot with disability.
By the way, Razmik Khachatryan knew the crew members of the plane, which crashed in South Sudan on Wednesday.
“They were our former colleagues, I knew some of them. One was Russian, the rest were Armenians. 15-20 years ago we kept in touch with them, then we retired, they went abroad in order to work. Earlier one of them went to Aleppo and was killed. One of his parents is still demanding compensation.”
