European Court of Human Rights accepts complaints against Azerbaijan
A group of Armenian lawyers have appealed to the European Court of Human Rights on behalf of family members of the Armenian soldiers who were beheaded, dismembered and mutilated during the latest ceasefire violation by Azerbaijan on the border with Karabakh. In doing so, the lawyers request the Court to recognize that the rights of applicants were violated; the killed Armenian soldiers received inhuman treatment by the Azerbaijani side. The Court accepted the complaints between April 9 and 15, informing the legal representatives of the applicants of its decision. The Court did not title the complaints, which means the applicants and their legal representatives cannot ensure full public access to information. Violation of the rules of procedure of the Court is considered an abuse of rights and can cause the Court to terminate the examination of complaints. Therefore, we ask media and others to refrain from contacting the families of the fallen servicemen or their legal representatives and disseminating unverified information received from other sources in order not to harm the investigation. We assure everyone that the applicants’ legal representatives will provide the necessary information to the public in accordance with the rules of the Court.
