Political analyst: There has been a clear order – to find new people (video)
I think that Karen Karapetyan’s appointment as Prime Minister was triggered by a sharp decline in legitimacy of power and political system, which, of course, did not start yesterday, political analyst Alexander Iskandaryan said on September 14. Not only the governmental institutions, but also the opposition forces have lost legitimacy, which resulted in ‘the catastrophic events of the summer.’ “Given this low rating and atmosphere of mistrust, any military or political event could develop into a new explosion of violence,” the political analyst added. “There has been a clear order – to find new people who are not discredited for their adherence to this or that political force. This is very difficult because anyone who joins the ranks of power receives negative attitude,” Mr. Iskandaryan said. The political analyst says the rating of the acting regime has dropped sharply after the July events in Yerevan, which is conditioned by the growing skepticism towards the only credible institution - army. Alexander Iskandaryan sees a need for institutional reforms.
