The detainee, addressing to the RA Human Rights Defender, stated that he had eyesight problem and had been given surgery indication before his imprisonment, but the ophthalmologist who visited him in the detention center did not prescribe a study or treatment. Within the framework of the Human Rights Defender’s staff discussion, the detainee was examined at the ophthalmology centre, diagnosed and received a lens removal and artificial lens implantation instruction. As a result, the detainee was operated on in the ophthalmologic centre within the framework of medical care and service of state-guaranteed free or privileged conditions.
