ARMENIAN PREMIER RECEIVES IMF EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
Support A1+!Armenian Prime Minister Andranik Margaryan received Monday a delegation headed by International Monetary Fund’s Executive Director Horst Keller.
Mr. Keller said he was impressed with economic growth in Armenia though noted that poverty is still visible in the country.
Premier, in turn, said economy could develop faster if its growth wasn’t being hampered by political tension in the region and blockade by Turkey.
The IMF official expressed willing to continue cooperation with the republic and condemned the blockade denouncing it as abnormal and artificial phenomenon. He promised to deal with the problem upon returning to Washington and to enter into negotiation with Turkey.
