“TELEPLUS” FACED OWN TRAP
Support A1+!The Armenian citizens won’t any longer need to prove in Courts that the advertisement of “Teleplus” Company for acquaintance service broadcasted on several TV channels during 2003 April-June is unfair.
On April 9, 2004, Appeal Court left unchanged the decisions of the First Instance and Review Courts, under which Kristina Teryan’s claim against “Teleplus” LTD and “ArmenTel” JV CJSC was granted.
Court considered proven the fact that Teryan’s minor son wouldn’t enjoy the acquaintance service if the services suggested were described and their tariffs were clear in the advertisement. Kristina Teryan and those who applies to Court for the same claim will be released from responsibility to pay.
By words of Arman Saghatelyan, Vice-Chair of Armenia’s PR Association, it is hard to say how many citizens exactly have suffered because of “Teleplus” carelessness.
According to “ArmenTel”, the plaintiffs are 200. Because of enjoying “acquaintance service” up to 1 million drams were accumulated on account of each subscriber. It is difficult to say how many minors got into “Teleplus” trap because of the advertisement dishonesty.
