Armenian-German deliberation for financial and technical cooperation took place in Yerevan on May 25-26.

Armenian Finance and Economy Minister Vardan Khachatryan was the Armenian Chair of Armenian-German intergovernmental meeting. Wolfgang Armbruster, head of Transcaucasus and Middle Asia Department of Germany Ministry of Economic Cooperation and Development was the German Chair.

The following issues were on the deliberation agenda:

Fund of regional credit guarantees
Encouragement of private business undertakings
Introduction of the system for deposit guarantee
Strategic program for poverty eradication
Reconstructive program for water supply system
Encouragement of commune development
Program for regional electricity transmission
Recoverable energy
Regional program for prevention of transmitted diseases
Program of technical re-equipment of hospitals

At the end of the meeting both sides signed the protocol of the results of intergovernmental deliberation for bilateral cooperation channeled to 2004 development between Armenia and Germany.

Under the proper contract, in July Germany will allot a grant of 6 million Euro for reconstruction of small hydroelectric power stations.
