THE GOVERNMENT HAS RECALLED THE EXPORTERS

Economy

Today the Government has made several decisions one of which is really philanthropic: to compensate the debts of the Armenian exporters. For the last few years the country has accumulated financial debts to the exporters as it did not pay the expenses for compensating Value Added Tax (VAT). Minister of Finance and Economy Tigran Khachatryan informed today that from this year on the Government will not only wholly return the VAT paid by the exporters, but also return the debt of about 4 billion ARMD gathered for the last few years.

The deputy Minister of Finance announced today about the usual credit to be given to Armenia. Last year our country has received 21 million dollars for reducing poverty. This year we shall receive 20 million more. It is to be spent in 5 directions, one of which is the compensation of the VAT paid by the exporters. The other four are the social, agricultural, economical and Government reforms fields.

By the way, Tigran Khachatryan did not answer the question why the debt was accumulated, and also if any businessman had applied to the Court to return the tax paid.
