FISHERY IS BANNED
Support A1+!Fishery has been banned in Lake Sevan since November 15. The RA Ministry of Environment Protection has imposed a ban on fishery till December 25.
The ban is aimed at protecting and reproducing some fishes, Artsrun Pepanian, the Press Secretary of the RA Ministry of Environment Protection, informed A1+.
It is due to mention that under a summer decree of the ministry, crab fishery was increased as crabs prevail over other fishes.
“The ban refers to all fishmongers as we are not convinced that once a fisherman appears in the lake he will catch only crawfish,” Artsrun Pepanian said.
Pepanian assures that all boats are denied entry till December 25. The ministry is taking all necessary precautions. Besides, whitefish sale is strictly forbidden and controlled at markets, the press secretary said.
