WHAT STONE SLABS AND BORDERS HAVE IN COMMON WITH GREENING?
Support A1+!About two dozens of poplars in the one of Yerevan avenues are in precarious state. The trees are stripped of their bark and trunks are injured mercilessly. The vandalism perpetrators reckon on rapid death of the trees, as they will not be able to survive and are likely to dry soon and be cut down.
Environment Department of Yerevan Municipality says it doesn’t aware of the problem, and State CC “Greening” assures that hollows in trees’ trunks were made by insects “bark beetles”.
Questioned about the problem Municipality officials in turn asked journalists why A1+ TV Company doesn’t notice the works on the capital improvement done by the Municipality. It should be said that under decision of the capital’s Mayor Robert Nazaryan, herbaceous borders and stone slabs around flower-beds are replaced by new ones in Abovyan Street, one of the central streets of the city. They have been serving well for two decades and could serve us for the same period of time, specialists say. Mayor assures Abovyan Street will be completely transformed by the end of this year. And old stone slabs Municipality will take.
