AMALYAN'S PATIENCE WAS EXHAUSTED

Social

Grigor Amalyan's / the Chair of TV and Radio National Commission/ patience was exhausted. Today he commented upon the accusations to him on the situation for "A1+" and "Noyan Tapan" TV Companies.

First Amalyan referred to the annual report by OSCE Press Freedom representative. One page was about "A1+". The representative of OSCE suggested to announce for a new competition as soon as possible to correct the situation and to encourage "A1+"' heads to take part in it. Mr. Amalyan thinks the proposal is commented in a wrong way. The report doesn't say the Commission committed outrages.

But then Mr. Amalyan said in the report standpoints by various public figures and organizations had been cited and considered as grounds. The representative who had made the report met Grigor Amalyan as well. But Amalyan couldn't comment properly why the OSCE representative had refused the standpoints by him.

Grigor Amalyan said it may be that the Commission announced for a special competition but, as Amalyan said, not influenced by appraisal of European Union. Amalyan got angry at the statement by "A1+" which said that "A1+" won't change its competitive proposal if participates in the new competition. It will submit the same one which was evaluated as a weak one in the last competition. "The Commission has expressed its standpoint on the same proposal. It would be strange if it were welcomed in the next competition, wouldn't it?",- Amalyan says.

And why does Amalyan avoid the public discussions over "A1+"? A few days ago Amalyan "ran away" from the seminar on "A1+" and "Noyan Tapan" TV Channels' banning from air. Those present evaluated it so: Amalyan knows he has infringed the law and that's why he avoids public discussions.
