HOSPITAL PROBLEMS IN GYUMRI
Support A1+!“Government carries out hazardous activity under the pretext of improvement in Shirak Province” ,- today the doctors of Gyumri’s N 1 hospital said.
According to hospital urologist Lernik Mkhitaryan, the Government decided to improve structure of city hospitals and as a result the hospital N 1 is to be closed and joined the hospital after Gyulbenkyan with lower medical and sanitary potentialities . Mkhitaryan says the state has a debt of 39 million drams / salary for 3,5 years / to hospital N 1. If shutting the hospital, the salary problem will disappear , the doctors think.
The doctors in today’s press conference assure Ruben Khachatryan, the Head of Health Department of Shirak Province has personal interest in shutting down the hospital . He had been directing the hospital in 1997-1998 and had accumulated a medicine debt of 7 million drams when leaving. Traumatologist Gevorg Khumharyan says Khachatryan has built a five-star lavatory in the hospital by 24 million drams. He also set up a province hospital 2 years ago and spent 46 million drams on 960 patients in 7 months . The doctors of hospital N 1 were informed they were to leave the hospital building and move to a new one.
