NEW COMPETITION FOR BROADCASTING FREQUENCIES TO BE ANNOUNCED SOON
Support A1+!Television and Radio National Commission is to announce a new tender for broadcasting frequencies on October 15.
Today, the Commission set terms for competition, specifying that the competition for “Armen-Akob”, “TV-5” and “Yerevan TV” channels’ frequencies licensing will have a broad direction without special restrictions while aspirants for other channels frequencies should meet specific conditions.
Those TV companies directed to international news channels re-transmitting as well as the companies of broad direction are eligible for the frequency where CNN now broadcasts.
“Dar XXI” company’s frequency could be given to a youth –targeted music channel. However, re-transmission of such kind of channels as “Muz-TV” in its full volume is to be prohibited by the Commission. It will be stipulated that specified amount of clips of home production must be shown.
The results of the tender will be announced on November 25.
