ARARAT ZURABYAN MEETS PRO-GOVERNMENTAL CANDIDATE'S CHALLENGE
Support A1+!Armenia’s authorities have put up their candidate against current head of Yerevan’s Kentron district and Armenian Nation-wide Movement member Ararat Zurabyan for upcoming local government elections.
“I think Zurabyan is able to overcome such a kind of obstacles”, ANM board member Aram Manukyan said at the meeting held by Kentron community.
The republic prominent intellectuals such as Tigran Levonyan and Svetlana Navasardyan were present at the meeting. They are convinced, Zurabyan represents rather intelligentsia than ANM and his victory should be taken as a victory of this social stratum. In their words, Ararat Zurabyan has managed to unite intellectuals working in various spheres of Armenian culture.
Zurabyan himself thinks it is not so hard to struggle against pro-governmental candidate. “Combat against one person is far easier than against the republic whole leadership”, he said adding that his victory in previous elections was due to the factor that this district population understands very well the difference between bribe-taker and people-chosen candidate.
