TRIAL OVER MURAD BOJOLYAN CONTINUES
Support A1+!Today orientalist Murad Bojolyan, accused of high treason, continued testifying before the Court. He was indicted on charges of placing military and state secrets to disposal of Turkish Authorities. Information over Bojolyan’s arrest was an interesting part in today’s testimony.
Being deprived of his job, Bojolyan (he used to be the interpreter-in-chief of Armenian president as well as former employee of Ministry of Foreign Affairs), began cooperating with some leading Turkish TV Companies and newspapers. He was also involved in business undertakings, besides journalism.
Murad Bojolyan was arrested by employees of Ministry of National Security in Bagratashen’s custom-house on January 26, 2002.
2 days earlier leaving for Turkey, Bojolyan’s friend Hasmik Stepanyan invited him to her house and asked him to take her book on disk to Turkey and give to Patriarch Mesrop Mutafyan . At the last moment at home Stepanyan said she had already sent to book to Turkey. The other friend of them – Rosa Lusbaryan, Colonel of National Security, was there, too.
In Bagratashen’s custom-house Security employees demanded a laser disk from Bojolyan after bursting in the bus and arresting Bojolyan and his wife. No disk was found at Bojolyan. Only some newspapers, crosswords and a tape was seized.
According to Bojolyan, he was taking interviews of Alexandr Arzumanyan and David Shahnazaryan, broadcasted on “A1+” TV Company to Turkey to introduce Opposition’s standpoint and to make materials in Turkish press and TV Companies .
Bojolyan was accompanied to Ministry of National Security from Bagratashen custom-house.
