ANDRANIK POGHOSYAN DENIES ALLEGATION OF BRIBE TAKING
Support A1+!Rumour about an attempt to bribe relatives of Poghos Poghosyan slain by Armenian president’s bodyguard in café “Aragast” is confirmed today. The exact amount is known: 90,000 USD. Andranik Poghosyan, the brother of victim, says he rejected the bribe and isn’t going to take it.
As “Taregir” Internet page reported, the president bodyguard Aghamal Harutyunyan, sentenced to a year-long probation, handed the sum to Poghosyan’s relatives. The released information forced the victim brother to take legal action against “Taregir” demanding to disprove the information.
Lilit Seyranyan, the author of the article, said today before the court that she wasn’t going to refute the information and reveal her sources. However, she didn’t deny that that it was a source linked to Dashnaktzutyun political party.
After two-hour hearing judge Gayane Karakhanyan made a decision demanding “Taregir” to disproof, otherwise the court decision would be carried out compulsory.
In the end of the hearing the plaintiff said those offering him bribe had been from the presidential staff. Only three men are aware of that: former head of presidential staff Alexan Harutyunyan, lawyer Ruben Sahakyan and he himself.
The defendant admission of the fact that she was given information by some Dashnak and plaintiff’s allegation about three persons involved have significantly narrowed the list of those offered the bribe, it remains to choose between two suspects – Alik Harutyunyan or Ruben Sahakyan.
