NOYAN TAPAN’S CLAIM GRANTED

Social

Economic Court of Armenia granted the claim by “Noyan Tapan” News Agency against TV and Radio National Committee .

According to the decision by Judge Anatoli Matevosyan, the Committee is obliged to accept tender proposal by “Noyan Tapan” over tender for frequency ranges within 3 days after the decision comes into force .

As known, on November 8 Agency application was not accepted, reasoning the applicant stated no frequency range. The decision says “Noyan Tapan” is bound to state in the application to the Committee for which frequency exactly it puts in an application.

Court decision made today confirms Committee, headed by Grigor Amalyan, to illegally refuse to accept “Noyan Tapan” application . Committee was to take the documents and give a 10 day term for making correction, (to state any frequency range in particular) and not to refuse to accept them without any written explanation.

Court decision takes effect within15 days but it doesn’t mean that tender date will be fixed after the term expiry.

Chair of the Committee, having lost the case in Armenian Court for the first time, can appeal against Economic Court decision in the Court of Appeal. If taking such a step, Amalyan will be able to drag out the frequency tender by extra 1,5 month.

By the way, today “Noyan Tapan” representatives announced in Court they will partake in the tender for the 58-th (CNN broadcasts at present) frequency range. “A1+” won’t take part in the tender for that frequency only.
