NEW ARRESTS

New arrests took place after the February 24 meeting . People’s Party Press Secretary Ruzanne Khachatryan informed there are more than a few tens of arrests.

After the previous meeting the employees of National Security and Internal Affairs Ministries arrested about 100 people, mainly heads of headquarters for Stepan Demirchyan, activists, village drivers, simply meeting participants .

There are 2 women and a minor boy among the newly-arrested ones. According to Ruzanne Khachatryan, one of the women, Sona Sirunyan, is a Major, an ex-employee of Internal Affairs, She’s in a grave health state . Her condition grew worse when she was taken to Court from IA Police Department to judge her.

Khachatryan says, MP Emma Khudabashyan does her best to help the woman. But it is not known yet if she manages to do it or not.

PP appeals to Court bodies to get information about the arrested ones but in vain. They keep silent, though continuing to send those arrested to either 15-day-long jail or to condemn to administrative fine through closed sessions .

Arrests continued at 6: 00 PM on February 24.
