LARGE FAMILIES DEMAND FOR STATE POLICY
Support A1+!On March 14 in Journalists’ House “Motherhood Fund of Armenia” charitable and social organisation with participation of 30 local social organisations held a round-table-discussion on problems of large families.
Fund Chairman Susanna Aslanyan says recently many programs regarding the problems of large families have been implemented. But the most essential one, the issue of legal status of those families, hasn’t been solved yet and various standards are used by state bodies and institutions.
She stated under the Law, worked out by them, families having 3 and more children are considered large. But under the project by Social Welfare Ministry, those having 4 and more children.
Besides, importance of using of social guarantees and privilege system for large families was stressed .
The demographic crisis, birth rate reduction, educational and social problems of children were spoken about at the meeting. Participants addressed state bodies of Armenia for necessity of special policy for overcoming demographic crisis in the country.
