FIGHTING UP TO THE END

Social

Senik Khachatryan, the resident of N 102 building in Arabkir Commune is going to institute legal proceedings against “Water and Sewerage” Company of Yerevan for finance and moral damage caused to his family. Because of drinking water pollution his 3 grandchildren faced health problems.

The Khachatryans, involved in “Paros” system for those under bad social conditions, have already accumulated debt of about 40 000 drams for medicine, dietetic foodstuff and water.

”Water in bottles rises in price day by day”, Senik Khachatryan complains, adding that he now pays 200 drams for 1 liter of “Noy” drinking water instead of 120 before.

”The water-pipe seems to be artificially polluted to raise prices for drinks and to stimulate some people’s business”, Tigran Urikhanyan, Chair of Advanced Youth Union of Armenia, has told today at the conference in Journalists’ House.

He had invited journalists to announce that they start fighting against “Water and Sewerage” Company and are ready to provide legal consultation to all the suffered consumers free of charge, allowing them type claim applications.

”First people must learn to master their rights, then to talk about tariffs”, he says. He considers it strange that people pay 200 drams for 1 liter of “Jermuk” but avoid water payment.
