TRAFFICKING IN ARMENIA IS ACTUAL
Support A1+!The population of Armenia /as prostitutes, inexpensive man power/ mainly leave for Turkey, United Arab Emirates, Russia, Greece and Germany. This was found as a result of studies. But the studies didn’t disclose how many people annually suffer violence in Armenia.
Trafficking was first seriously studied in Armenia in 2000. In 2002 a short film was shot about the “victims” of trafficking in Armenia. Under Government decision an interdepartmental committee on trafficking was set up.
In 2003 Armenian Criminal Code fixed that trafficking is pursued criminally. There is no progress on the problem in Armenia. The only thing is that under USA State Department announcement Armenia now holds the 2nd place among the countries with trafficking whereas before it was the 3rd.
That means that there is trafficking in Armenia but it is being prevented. OSCE supports it. Social organizations and state departments have joined fighting.
