APPEAL COURT REJECTED
Support A1+!Armenia’s Appeal Court has today considered the complaints introduced by the advocates of Felix Arustamyan, Gegham Shahbazyan, John Harutyunyan and Armen Sargssyan, the defendants of Tigran Naghdalyan’s murder case.
But before starting consideration Zaruhi Postanjyan, the advocate of Felix Arustamyan sentenced to 12 years in prison, demurred the Court reasoning that the son of Judge Mher Khachatryan is in Office of Prosecutor and it might hamper Judge to make a fair decision.
Mher Khachatryan announced that his son worked in Yerevan’ Office of Prosecutor and not in General Office of Prosecutor and bears no relation to the murder case of Tigran Naghdalyan.
Then Court left for deliberation. Court rejected the challenge and went on to the complaint.
The advocates of Armen Sargssyan had solicited the Court to suppress the verdict of the Review Court and to acquit Sargssyan.
Arustamyan’s advocate had demanded to stop and to send the case for additional review.
John Harutyunyan had demanded to suppress and to set a lighter punishment.
Gegham Shahbazyan convicted to 11 years of imprisonment demanded for an easier punishment, too, as the person who had more abetted the crime was fixed to a lighter punishment /Hovhanness Harutyunyan, Aper nicknamed who was sentenced to 7 years in jail/.
After consulting for 20 minutes Court rejected the appeal complaints.
Armen Sargssyan’s advocate Robert Grigoryan informed that they would apply to the European Court of Human Rights since human rights had been broken in all the Court instances.
