MONEY FOR AVOIDING MILITARY SERVICE

As many as five thousand Armenian citizens of call-up age haven’t served in army because of their absence from the republic. Many of them can’t return to the republic despite their desire because they are announced wanted.

This issue was discussed today at the government session held Thursday.

Defense Ministry started solving the problem with submitting a project for the cabinet consideration. Under the project, citizens over age of 27 can settle the matter by paying due amount of money.

Deputy Defense Minister Arthur Aghabekyan says the amount depends on how many drafts a young man has missed.
