WE MUST BE GLAD THAT PEOPLE BEATING JOURNALISTS ARE PUNISHED

Social

Today is the 100th day of establishment of Ombudsman’ Institution. In that connection Armenian Ombudsman Larissa Alaverdyan held a press conference.

Mrs. Alaverdyan announced the process of restoration of violated rights in Armenia passes slowly. Ombudsman does hope people treat the newly-set up institution more seriously.

She in details introduced how many applications she had received and how many of them Ombudsman Office responded to. Mrs. Alaverdyan was asked who exactly she had helped. She said she had assisted in restoring people illegally relieved to jobs.

As to “regret” of Opposition representatives, Alaverdyan said it hurt her and she wasn’t for such a work.

A journalist asked how Mrs. Alaverdyan treated the verdict brought in for the young men with shaved heads. She said the fact that we had a precedent of punishing those who beat journalists pleases.
