MUNICIPALITY BUILDING INAUGURATED
Support A1+!Yerevan Municipality building has been inaugurated today. Robert Kocharyan and Ervand Zakharyan were granted “pleasure” of cutting the red ribbon.
Architect Jim Torosyan is the author of the building. The five-storeyed erection covers about 13.500 square meters. It has a tower 47 meters in height taking an area of 1226 square meters. A museum building is located in a part of the building, which will be used as an exposition place.
The whole construction process of the building lasted for 2 years. But the complex constructing started in August, 2003. 3,1 milliard drams were spent for that purpose.
”I am impressed and satisfied. Huge work was done in a short period. I’m also impressed because it was my idea and I kept construction under my control. I think that a capital of a country must have such a Municipality building. This also stresses the grade of a town and I am sure our city deserves having such a building”, President Robert Kocharyan shared his impressions with journalists.
It turns Municipality building was the obstacle in the way for improving living standard of people. ”More efficient activity must now be carried out in this building. Steps for improving life standard will be taken more quickly without fuss and trouble. The uninterrupted work of all the municipal services must be provided. We won’t receive any more appeals complaining of conditions”, President said.
