THE JOURNALIST IS GUILTY WHEN HE DOES NOT “TELL ON” THE BAD POLICEMAN

Social

”There are cases when the information given by me is distorted”, complained Sajat Shirinyan, head of the information department of the RA Police, from the work of the journalists. He sees a tendency in the work of the journalists of compromising the work of the policemen and called on all the journalists to give him information about bad policemen before writing the article, not after that.

"If you do not inform me of the problems, you are an equal accomplice", said Mr. Shirinyan. The latter also mentioned that he has his own methods of “punishing” those journalists who purposefully compromise a policeman: not to support him with exclusive information. “Don’t we have good policemen? Why don’t you write about them?” complained the head of the information department of the RA Police.

As for the question of how the journalists can get exclusive interviews about the shortcomings in the work of the policemen, Sajat Shirinyan said, “Be contented with the answers you get to your questions. No exclusive interviews will ever be given”.
