THE MUNICIPALITY PROMISES A WELL-BUILT CITY

“We will have a well-built city at the end of the year”, deputy mayor Vano Vardanyan said in the municipality today. According to him, 4,7 billion drams has been allotted for the reconstruction, construction, and asphalting of the city. «Construction» means the strengthening of the 92 buildings, only 9 of which will be included in the strengthening program this year.

According to the deputy mayor, the buildings are mainly in the Malatya-Sebastya and Shengavit communities. As for asphalting, this year, according to Vano Vardanyan, an area of half a million square kilometers will be asphalted. «It is 46 thousand square kilometers more than last year», said the deputy mayor. He also referred to central heating. It turned out that in the summer of 2004-2005 only 20 houses have had central heating «which is less than last year».

«We are convinced that central heating has exhausted itself», said the deputy mayor reminding of the low percent of payments for central heating. Because of that, in the summer of 2005-2006 445 living houses will be heated by local heating system, «if our business programs are supported», said the deputy mayor.
