In connection with the opening of the new building of the RA Criminal and Military Court of Appeal, David Haroutyunyan, RA Minister of Justice, asked himself of we have an independent court system. «No, unfortunately no, but I must say not yet», said Mr. Haroutyunyan.

He claims that «we have the necessary political will to found an independent court system». At the same time Mr. Haroutyunyan will not allow the court independence to turn into irresponsibility.

Roby Robinson, Head of the WB Yerevan office which financed the opening of the building, said that for the WB the transparency and independence of the court system is more important than the conditions in the building.

«It is difficult to take part in the opening of a building knowing that you have not succeeded much in it», Roby Robinson, Head of the WB Yerevan office said about the absence of an independent court system.
