ARMEN AVETISYAN WAS WELCOMED AND SEEN OFF WITH SONGS
Support A1+!In the court of the first instance of Center and Nork-Marash communities the trial of Armen Avetisyan, head of the Armenian Aryan Union continued today. Journalists and relatives and friends of Armen Avetisyan were present.
As the trial was delayed, the people present started to sing patriotic songs. The prosecutor’s side did not like this. Prosecutor Armen Yeritsyan reminded those present that they are in the court.
After 4 hours of trial Judge Gayane Karakhanyan read the sentence. She found Armen Avetisyan guilty by the 1st point of the article 226 of the Criminal Code for arousing national hostility.
The article anticipates imprisonment for 3-6 years. But taking into account that Armen Avetisyan has never been tried, has 3 under-age children, is a soldier of the Armenian National Army, and besides delegates Manouk Gasparyan and Viktor Dallakyan have solicited for him, the Judge sentenced him to 3 years of imprisonment conditionally delaying the carrying out of the punishment for 2 years.
