INTERNATIONAL HEALTH DAY IN ARMENIA
Support A1+!The child death rate has been reduced in Armenia, especially with the children of up to 5 years of age. The highest death rate is in Africa – 250 of 1000 children die during a year. Then comes China – 200 from 1000, in Asia and India it is about 50-150. The reasons are mainly tuberculosis, malaria, measles, etc.
In Armenia the death of the children up to 5 years of age is conditioned mainly by malnutrition, not feeding by breast, water and air pollution, absence of safe places for playing, traffic accidents, ect. These facts were made public during the round table organized in connection with the UN International Health Day.
The participants – the representatives of the European office of WHO, international and non-governmental health organizations in Armenia, and several Ministries – were presented the problems about the health of mothers and children in the world and in Armenia in particular, and the real facts.
The participants of the round table together with the Ministry of Health will process a message about the children’s health problems which will be sent to the UN tomorrow.
