EURASIA FINANCING “NEW IDEAS”
Support A1+!Today the Eurasia Foundation invited its colleagues and Mass Media representatives to celebrate the 10th anniversary of its activity in Armenia. The foreign heads of the American organization were also present at the celebration.
The executive assistant of the head of the Foundation Horton BB-Center said that during the 10-year activity in our country they have managed to crack the press monopoly. By means of their Armenian representative they have given loan to the publishing house “Gind” which was armed with all they modern equipment and today realizes the publishing of the 50% of the newspapers.
He thanked the US Embassy to Armenia and USAID for financing Eurasia. In Armenia the Foundation has given more than 600 grants, and USAID has helped them with 20 million USD.
Next year the Foundation will finance the independent regional TV Companies, border commerce and business programs in villages. Head of the Armenian representation of the Foundation Ara Nazinyan said that they have changed their approach. Now they will pay more attention to new ideas and try to finance them.
It is noteworthy that only one third of the expected participants were present at the celebration.
