THE RAISING OF THE COSTS OF GAS WILL MAKE PEOPLE MORE CAREFUL

Today in the “Mirror” club the head of the NA Standing Committee on Financial-Credit, Budgetary and Economic Affairs Gagik Minasyan asked the Armenian consumers to be more careful towards the usage of electricity and gas. His words came after the question of A1+ how the government is going to compensate the raise of the cost of the Russian gas.

Gagik Minasyan’s opponent, NA deputy Khachatur Suqiasyan contradicted to him saying that the people understand the importance of being economical as they earn their living in a very difficult way, and that “his request must be sent to the state officials”.

Continuing the theme, Gagik Minasyan announced that the raise of the costs of gas took place regardless of our will and we must now try to find alternative sources of energy. He especially found the gas pipeline Iran-Armenia, the windmills, the Hrazdan Power station, and the Yerevan power station built with Japanese grants important.

He also reminded that according to the agreement of building the gas pipeline Iran-Armenia the Armenian side must provide Iran with electricity in return to the gas received, but as far as the electricity costs more than the gas, a large amount of gas remains to Armenia which can serve as an alternative for the Russian gas.

And the NA deputy, businessman Khachatur Suqiasyan added that he is very glad that the costs of gas were equalized to the international costs as keeping is low artificially we had stopped to think about new ways of alternative energy.
