Social

Since April 10 the population of Armenia will pay 90 AMD instead of 59 AMD for one cubic meters of gas. The Committee regulating public services unanimously confirmed the new tariffs of gas sold to the consumers by «ArmRusGasArd».

According to the decision, since April 10 the average cost of one cubic meters of gas sold to the consumers is 162.95 USD instead of the 168.4 USD as the company claimed. For consumers of up to 10 thousand cubic meters of gas per month the tariff for gas is 90 thousand AMD including VAT. In case of consuming more than 10 thousand cubic meters of gas, the tariff is 146.51 USD. The tariffs offered by «ArmRusGasArd» were 108 thousand AMD and 145 USD correspondingly.

The reasons for the change of tariffs were the change of the cost of imported gas, addition of several articles about consumption and reservation, as well as the investments made during 2004 and 2005.

It is noteworthy that the demand of the company to raise the average salary is also included in into the raise of the tariffs. Factually the Committee upheld the claim considering the average salary 85 thousand AMD instead of 60 thousand.
