Support A1+!The dream of the NGO «Bridge of Hope» is stuck on the wall of the organization building in the form of a poster: a world which will allow the disabled to create the future of the country together with everyone. Member of the organization Nshan says that the attitude of the people towards the disabled has changed and improved, although it's still far from being ideal.
The organization tries to create the ideal social model. They have been working with disabled children and their parents for the last 10 years, «creating an atmosphere free from discrimination and hostility». Nshan claims that he is a full member of the society as he has work and is getting education: he studies in the Yerevan State Pedagogic University.
With the initiative of the NGO «Bridge of Hope» in the five schools of the capital an education model is put into practice where children with special needs attend school together with the children of their age.
«Any child can study according to his abilities, irrespective of his mental, physical, spiritual and cultural abilities. The problem is that not all the teachers can organize the process of education on the proper level. This is not the problem of the child», head of the NGO «Bridge of Hope» Susanna Tovmasyan says.
