ASSAULT ON THE WEBSITE OF HELSINKI CITIZENS ASSEMBLY

Social

The Azeris assaulted on the Internet site of Helsinki Civil Assembly of Vanadzor leaving the names of 333 Azeris, the victims of Khojalu events. «February 26, the Khojalu events became our concern and memory», they added in Russian.

They also left the address of Azeri independent non-governmental organisation and newspaper «Nash Vek» on the website of Helsinki Citizens Assembly of Vanadzor.

On February 26, Azeri «Nash Vek» newspaper touched upon the Khojalu events. According to their data, the draft law on the events was submitted to the Turkish Parliament, as people world-wide must be aware of the events. «The Azeris claim that the Khojalu events are the continuation of the 1918 massacre when the «Armenian troops entered Azerbaijan and murdered the peaceful residents», the newspaper says.

It is noteworthy that the Internet site of the Helsinki Citizens Assembly of Vanadzor seeks peaceful regulation of the Armenian-Azeri conflict. Arthur Sakunts, head of the Vanadzor Office, qualifies the attack as a breach of peaceful and legal procedures.

«Surely, the mass assassination of the Khojalu residents during the Karabakh war cannot be justified; we condemn the crime. On the other hand, the vandalisms in Sumgayit, Baku, Kirovabad and Shahumyan must also be taken into consideration».

The classification of victims into ethnic, religious categories is a vivid discrimination and it doesn't go in line with the peacekeeping and legal protection».

Arthur Sakunts assumes that suchlike attitude will transfer the conflict into cyber sphere.
