ARMENIAN PEACEKEEPERS ARE LEAVING FOR KOSOVO
Support A1+!The seventh shift of the Armenian peace-keepers is leaving for Kosovo on May 24. On the same day the sixth shift of the peace-keepers is returning to Armenia.
Today RoA Defense Minister Michael Harutyunyan awarded peace-keepers with medals.
“According to a well-established tradition, we are sending the next shift of peacekeepers to Kosovo. Our peace-keepers make a significant contribution to the international security,” the minister said.
Michael Harutyunyan emphasized the high qualification of the Armenian peacekeepers, their experience in the multi-nation force, as well as efficiency, discipline and commitment to the Armenian values. “Therefore, the Armenian peace-keepers to Iraq and Kosovo are considered as reliable partners. It is important because thereby we enable the development of our peacekeeping force,” Michael Harutyunyan said. According to the minister, the excellent service of the Armenian peace-keepers enhances the reputation of the Armenian force in the world.
The peace-keepers' relatives are convinced that their sons will return to the motherland with great honours. “We realise their great contribution and mission. Nevertheless, we miss them just before their departure,” said one of the parents.
Our peacekeepers are in high spirits and they are ready to overcome all hardships they face. The collaboration between the Armenian and Greek sides is on a high level,” Moris Barseghyan, the Commander of the peacekeepers, said.
