DUST IN THE CITY
Support A1+!Every day we “swallow” certain quantity of dust, which we do not lack in Yerevan.
It turns out that the harmful influence of dust depends on its size. If the dust particles are big, according to Ms Nune Bakunts, Ministry of Health Department of Hygiene and Anti-epidemic Surveillance, the dust remains in the nose, in nasopharynx and even in bronchitis.
“The particles of the dust may cause coryza”, says Nune Bakunts. While the small particle reach to bronchitis and lungs exacerbating chronic diseases.
“Dust may not cause disease but it may exacerbate it. The pollution of air may exacerbate any disease”, mentioned Mrs Bakunts.
According to the surveys of the National Institute of Health of the RA Ministry of Health the cases of diseases of upper respiratory tracks have become more frequent during the recent years.
The RA NA had made additions to the RA law “On Preservation of Atmospheric Air”, which entered into force on 10 April 2007.
According to the mentioned law, the company carrying out construction works should erect a wall round the territory where the construction is done and cover the building with a transparent cover etc. We need to make a necessary investigation to find out which companies follow the instructions.
The law has set up certain fines for those who breach the law, for physical individuals 50-80 thousand drams, for judicial individuals 100-150 thousand drams depending on the level of breach.
