WE ARE NOT INSURED
Support A1+!During the hot summer months even the food bought in supermarkets and shops can be rotten and poisonous let alone the food sold in the streets.
“Even the most expensive food can be dangerous if the necessary temperature is not provided,” Chairman of the “Protection of Consumers' Rights” NGO Abgar Eghojan informed A1+.
The NGO mostly complains of dairy products and the poor quality of vegetable oil.
A1+ tried to find out whether our fellow-citizens take into consideration the keeping time of products.
Most respondents say they never buy anything in the street lest they should be poisoned. Grandpa Avet says he does his daily shopping in the street as it is cheaper though he fully realises its side-effects. He also added he had been poisoned from “matsoun” (Armenian dairy product) bought in the street a month before.
Many said they got poisoned from watermelons remaining in the sun for a long time.
Asked why they don’t trade in shops marketers say they don’t pay much money in the street.
Very often poisoned people do not voice complaint to any body because of their ignorance.
“No reports are available about serious food poisonings in our country. Most consumers don’t consult doctors even in case of stomach disorder,” said Abgar Eghojan
