Within the framework of the solemn celebration of Yerevan's 2790 anniversary the City Hall will hold different events on October 10-13. The celebrations kick off at the National Academic Theatre after A. Spendarian at 7:00, October 10.

Nevertheless, our fellow citizens are not much encouraged by the City Hall’s initiative as they think the celebrations “will not differ from the previous ones due to their tastelessness and monotony.”

“I love Yerevan but I am not going to attend the celebrations because I don’t like mass events. Besides, our singers usually sign to phonogram,” Karen Sargsyan said to A1+.

It is due to mention that over 100 million drams have been earmarked to the cleanup activities.

Some of the respondents think the money had better be sent to vulnerable families.

“How can they hold a celebration if the capital’s heart, the Opera House, is half destroyed? They had better asphalt the streets and put everything in order as the air is polluted in the capital. People will lose patience one day,” said Varduhi Hakobian.

Others stated they would attend the celebrations as they adore Yerevan. “As a RoA citizen I am bound to attend the great celebrations of the holiday,” said Nune Martirossian.

By the way, many of our respondents didn’t know how old Yerevan is.
