DON’T EXPECT FOR RESIGNATION!
Support A1+!”I don’t want to resign”, Ishkhan Zaqaryan, Chairman of Armenia’s Sport Committee and Olympic Committee, announced at today’s conference. Why doesn’t Mr. Zaqaryan want to resign if Armenia didn’t win any medal in Athens?.
”My task was to obtain finances and I did it perfectly. All the tasks set to me were fulfilled. Almost by 100 %”, Zaqaryan announced.
Instead of retiring Zaqaryan intends to assemble the chairmen of federations for Olympic sport kinds and to find why Armenian sportsmen failed. ”Federations go for Olympic Games like guests. They are even called as guests”, he said.
Ishkhan Zaqaryan said everyone is to blame for the failure in Athens.
Did Zaqaryan meet Robert Kocharyan to discuss the situation in the sport sphere? “No, we didn’t meet or talk”, Zaqaryan said adding that Kocharyan has settled many problems on his personal initiative.
Zaqaryan said refereeing was sometimes partial. He considers the appraisal by a judge regarding wrestler Martin Berberyan’s performance as unfair. “Sportsmen who didn’t even enter the four 1-2 months ago became cup winners”, Zaqaryan said.
