In the 9th tour of World Chess Championship Armenia’s combined team competed with leader Ukraine, which had won all the games before. The match ended in draw, 2:2.

Morozevich and Hakobyan played a draw game on the first chess-board. In the 2nd Rafael Vahanyan won Ruslan Ponomoryov. Smbat Lputyan lost and Gabriel Sargssyan played draw.

After the 9th tour Ukraine team is heading the list. Armenia is in the 4th standing by 23 points.
