Support A1+!The Armenian Chess federation refuted the hearsay on intentions to organize World Championship in Yerevan in autumn 2005.
The fact is that FIDE President Kirsan Ilyumzhinov stated during a press conference that a contest has been announced and expressed hope that the Armenian, Georgian and Singaporean chess federations will not remain aloof.
After the press conference the Russian media by mistake spread the information that Yerevan, Tbilisi and Singapore wished to organize the championship. As a matter of fact no single city except Elista, the capital of Kalmykia expressed such a wish.
The Armenian Chess Federation has not discussed the issue yet.
