UNSUCCESSFUL START
Support A1+!Armenian grand masters displayed unsuccessful playing in the International Chess tournament "Aeroflot Open 2007" held in Moscow.
Vladimir Hakobyan, the leader of A1 group, tied with the 45th chess player Valeri Popov. To note, Vladimir Hakobyan played with black draughts. Karen Asryan and Zaven Andreasyan also tied their meetings.
Ashot Anastasyan, Gabriel Sargsyan and Tigran Petrosyan were beaten during the A1 group meetings. Artashes Minasyan was the only person among the Armenian chess players who enjoyed victory and beat his Ukrainian rival Katerina Lahnoye.
In the second round Minasyan will play with Vikto Bologan, the renowned chess player of Moldova.
During the meetings of A2 group Tigran Nalbandyan, David Petrosyan, Avetik Grigoryan and Benjamin Galstyan displayed excellent participation and beat their rivals whereas Arman Pashikyan, Tigran Kotanjyan, Elina Danielyan, Arthur Chibukhchyan, Arsen Eghiazaryan and Hrant Melkoumyan lost the games.
