ARONIAN IN SOLE LEAD
Support A1+!Armenian Grand Master Levon Aronian won over World champion Viswanathan Anand 1.5:0.5 in the 8th round of the Amber International Blindfold and Rapid Chess Tournament underway in Nice, France. The Armenian GM won the blindfold and tied the rapid game against Anand.
Peter Leko of Hungary defeated van Velly 1.5:0.5. Vladimir Kramink played a tie with Vasili Ivanchuk (1:1).
After the 8th round Aronian is still in sole lead with 10.5 points, followed by Magnus Carlsen with 9.5 points. Peter Leko is the third with 9 points.
