ARMENIAN WRESTLING TEAM IN ISTANBUL

The Armenian Greko-Roman Wrestling national team had an unsuccessful performance in the World Junior Wrestling Championship, Istanbul.

In the first round Sargis Khachatrian (50kg) lost to Reza Asadpour of Iran. The latter got to the final round, so Khachatrian was given a chance to struggle for a bronze medal. However, he was beaten by Sang-Han Oh of Korea and had to return without a medal.

Arthur Tsaturian (55kg) beat Marian Stoyka of Romania in the first round but lost to Madi Jarbovov of Romania and was left out of further struggle.

Winning victories against the representatives of Spain and Finland, Vahram Khachatrian (60kg) got to the semi-final, where he was beaten by Genadi Khaliavitski of Belarus. In the final round Hajikhan Mustafaev of Azerbaijan beat Khachatrian, leaving him without a medal.

At the end the national team of Turkey got the first standing, followed by those of Iran and Azerbaijan.
