It is a few months the footballers of Yerevan’s Ararat haven’t been paid salaries, Ararat’s ex chief coach Varujan Sukiasyan said yesterday. Today the team’s General Manager Karo Topuzyan confirmed the information.
“Yes, the footballers haven’t been paid for two months, but the issue will soon be addressed,” Karo Topuzyan said to A1+.
Ararat took the second place at the Armenian Football Championship-2008 but the team administration isn’t even going to award their footballers for the good results.
“Prior to the final match, we promised to award each footballer in case they won the champion’s title. But we didn’t foresee awards for the second place,” said Topuzyan.
Ararat’s GM assured us that their footballers get encouraging awards (at least $400) for each victory against an outsider. And they get an award of $900 in case they beat a leading team.
Asked whether the footballers have got money awards for the last few months, GM Topuzyan said, “The footballers have got but the training staff have not. Soon they will also be paid. The club will be indebted to no one.”
