ARMENIAN SOCCER PLAYER DIED

Former soccer player of the Armenian young team and the “Bentonit” team of Ijevan Karlen Abramov died in a car accident in Tashkent. The 21-year old player was transferred to the hospital in critical condition and doctors weren’t able to save his life.

Karlen Abramov was one of the tallest attackers (191 centimeters). In 2002-2004, he was invited several times to the up-to 17 year-old team of Armenia. Later, Karlen was recognized as candidate of the Armenian Youth Team. In spring 2007, Karlen was invited to the “Bentonit” team of Ijevan, but the team split up and Abramov left. Karlen played in the “Traktro” and “Navbahor” teams in Uzbekistan, as well as in the “McKab” team in Tel-Aviv.

Vadim Abramov, Karlen’s father, is a renowned trainer in Uzbekistan and the former chief trainer of the Uzbek national soccer team.
