Not all members of the Latvian football team will play in the friendly match with Armenia to be held on February 11. As the Armenian team, the Latvian team also doesn’t have some of its key players.
Chief trainer of the Latvian team Alexander Starkov decided not to invite a couple of expert football players who are currently seeing new clubs and don’t have any practice.
Main goalkeeper Alexander Kolinko of the Latvian team will miss the match with Armenia and goalkeeper of “Ventpils” Andris Vanin will probably substitute for him. The chief trainer also didn’t invite midfielders Vladimir Kolesnichenko and Alexander Yaunya. The Latvian team mainly consists of players from Latvian clubs and there are few legionaries. The only players from the foreign clubs are Maris Verpakovskis (“Celta”, Spain), Yuris Lanzas (“Shinnik”, Russia) and Andrey Rubin (“Inter”, Azerbaijan).
The Armenian and Latvian teams will face off on February 11 in Cyprus. The Armenian team will not include key players Roman Berezovski, Levon Pachajyan, Artavazd Karamyan, Hamlet Mkhitaryan and Karen Alexanyan.
