Armenian Grandmaster Levon Aronian continues to head the FIDE Grand Prix tournament underway in Nalchik. The Armenian GM played a draw with Russian GM Peter Swidler in round 8.
Armenian Grandmaster Vladimir Akobyan gained 0.5 point during a game with Evgeny Alexseev. All leaders of the tournament played ties in this round, and no major changes were registered on the list.
The tournament list is topped by Levon Aronian with five points, followed by Evgeny Alexseev, Sergey Karyakin, Alexander Grischuk, Peter Leko and Peter Swidler who share places 2-5 with 4.5 points each.
